I was commissioned by the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust Arts & Culture programme, in partnership with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, to create a series of site-specific artworks for the SDEC unit and its extension at Weston General Hospital.
The work has been shaped through seasonal research and collaboration with clinical staff, exploring places including Brean Down, Uphill, the nature reserve, marina and Prince Consort Gardens. Local wildflowers, grasses, boats, gardens and landmarks have informed a series of wall coverings, printed plywood artworks and a window design, creating a visual connection to Weston and reflecting themes of nature, place and wellbeing.
